UVM SLAP is a campaign of Students for Peace & Global Justice. We are a collective of students that have been working since 2005 on workers rights issues at the University of Vermont. The largest of which has been our common struggle for a livable wage for all campus workers both directly employed and contracted. Other goals include the freedom to organize, and responsible contractor agreements. We are students committed to a just world and a just UVM. We are committed to working in solidarity with the workers of UVM that make this school run. We are committed to holding UVM accountable and challenging injustice wherever we come upon it!

Hi UVM SLAP,
My name is Jamila Martin and I am one of the Northeast Regional Organizers for United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS – an org very much like SLAP, just a bit more centralized, and without a parent org like JwJ). Anyhow, I wanted to check in because I haven’t been able to get in contact with anyone from UVM working on labor issues this year and a new group at UVM just affiliated with USAS. If there is already a labor justice group on campus, then they should definitely get to know you at the very least. So let me know what’s up if you get this! Also, feel free to call me (617-549-6833)
thanks!
Jamila
